Do I Have Talent?

Every aspiring guitarist needs a serious band to play with in order to grow as a guitar player and eventually get noticed. Unfortunately finding the right musicians to form a band with can sometimes be really hard and time consuming, so many guitar players end up making compromises and forming bands involving people that don't really have many things in common in terms of ambition, personality and musical taste. This almost always results in the band disbanding after several months or even earlier, so you must simply accept the fact that compromises and having a successful band are mutually exclusive.

Karaoke System: What Every Player Should Have

Music with soul moves people and when people venture out to see live music, they want to be moved. Folk music comes from the soul, it is the music of poor working class people who sang to describe stories of their people and traditions and who entertained each other through a love of music and song. They sang from the heart and nothing is louder than the heart in music.

Keeping the Blues Alive

In a post war Britain the most popular style of music was dance bands, "big band" style. This developed into the "revivalist' jazz movement. They drew inspiration from the 20's jazz players like Jelly Roll Morten and singers like Bessie Smith. They paved the way for Black Blues musicians to tour Britain.

Why You Should Participate in a Songwriting Contest?

Most of us or our children can show the signs of knack for music even at a very young age. Some individuals can play three to five musical instruments very well. And this is a very unique talent. Maybe, learning and studying how to perfect the several traditional Indian instruments could nurture more our musical gift.

5 Reasons Why You Should Buy Your Tickets From a Reputable Ticket Seller

So many definitive rockabilly recordings came out on the Sun Records label that the label has come to be synonymous with rockabilly. Although the label didn't release rockabilly exclusively--lots of blues and country recordings were released on Sun too--it's those pioneering rockabilly recordings that put the label on the map. Rockabilly musicians the world over have been trying to duplicate that distinctive "Sun sound" ever since Elvis' "That's All Right" changed the course of pop music forever. While other labels turned out records that you could say were equally as great as the Sun releases, no one has ever really been able to nail that original Sun sound.

Wedding Music Guide: How To Hire Music Entertainment

I have picked out, in my opinion, the 5 Best Techno Songs from 1990 to1995. I enjoy a wide variety of electronic music, so some of these picks might be better classified as Rave, Electronic Dance, Trance, Eurodance, Electronica or maybe even House. Genres are getting a little too specific anyway, and there are way too many different classifications. So, if the song was at least partly synthetic, and had a good enough beat to dance to it, then it made my list. Techno songs usually have several different mixes of the same song, so if there is a specific version that I like it will be noted after the song title.

Vintage Guitar Amps Versus Modern Guitar Amps

As I was sitting in my office in Miami, me and several DJs were having a very intense discussion as to what were the top 25 dirty south songs of the decade. Even though we all know that choosing your favorite rap songs is solely based on one's opinion. I decided to take a crack at it to see how my picks would line up with the rest. But the criteria that I used to make my picks were that the songs had to be club bangers. I think that you will be very surprised as to what my picks are.

The 5 Best Techno Songs From 1990 to 1995

The rockabilly scene, just like pretty much any other scene I can think of, has its purists. And just as with all purists, rockabilly's version can be a little hard to take sometimes. After all, what does it mean to be a rockabilly purist? How can anyone identify what is pure rockabilly and what is not? In my view, you can't. Rockabilly has too many forms of purity to narrow it down quite that easily!

The Search for the Greatest Piano Teacher

Peter Hook and the Light brought their "Unknown Pleasures" show back to London's Scala, much to the joy of Joy Division fans both young and not so young. Young fans looking for new alternative music will find that, despite the passage of 30 years, Joy Division's songs sound fresh, and they will see the clear influence this band exerts right now on many of today's most famous names. Peter Hook and the Light, like the original Joy Division, is a different beast entirely than Joy Division on their two studio albums. To me, this is disappointing because it tends to make their live sound too similar to a host of other rock bands. That said, Peter Hook is one of the most important figures in British popular music in the last...well, ever to be frank. If he prefers to ditch the complicated audio processing and return to his roots, then he is quite probably right to do so.

New Alternative Music: Joy Division Reincarnated for a New Generation of Indie Fans

A band is not complete, or even qualified to be called a band, if it does not have the bass guitar. The bass guitar is never in the spotlight for anything and therefore many people mistake it for just any other guitar like the rhythm or the lead guitar. However, the bass guitar does really play an important role when all things are considered in that it gives life to any band and adds quality of the music.

Tallulah Belle Willis—Busted for Alcohol!

Oh oh…busted! Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s seventeen-year old has been nabbed for alcohol! You booze you lose girlfriend! So much for a night on the town with teeny boppin’ friends! Sounds like someone is in trouble! Last night was supposed to be a night out with friends, turned out to be an illegal brush with the law for the youngsters. Tallulah Belle Willis and two other friends were stopped and questioned by law enforcement after they were spotted getting out of a car around 11 o’clock in the hills of Hollywood. According to the cops, they were seen cradling what appeared to be not just one, but two bottles of liquor. After the officers performed their duties, the girls were cited for being in possession of alcohol…cheers to under age drinking! Because they are minors, their parents were called. Tallulah phoned big daddy Bruce, and to no avail, Demi cruised on over to pick up her unlawful teen. Tallulah is the youngest of three sisters (Rumer and Scout) with super celebrity parents, Demi and Bruce—oh and Ashton Kutcher. You would think this little girl would have learned her lesson since this isn’t the first time she has been in [...]

apple and google watching our every move

Better not use those smart phones for anything illicit…

Lately, there's been some paranoia concerns that iPhone and Android devices keep track of users' locations.

In a sketcherrific move by Apple, the company hasn't issued a statement on the subject, and Google's only response was to say that they "obtain permission to run all Android location tracking services, and that location data is not traceable to individual users."

Here are a couple of creepy tidbits to keep in mind:

-iPhones and iPads "collect time-stamped location coordinates" very frequently (as much as every few minutes)

-Google Androids collect location data AND send it to Google for advertising purposes

There's talk of potential lawsuits regarding this issue, and a privacy rights bill proposed by Sen. John Kerry and Sen. John McCain could def pick up some steam thanks to Apple and Google sketchiness.

Should we even be writing this? Are they monitoring us? OMG, ARE THEY WATCHING US RIGHT NOW????

LOLz.

Do U think Apple and Google are watching our every move?

Fifth time is the charm, right?

Lorenzo Lamas married wife #5 Saturday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

His fiancee of more than a year, Shawna Craig, 24, wore a white lace wedding gown with a train while Lorenzo wore a dark shirt, white pants, and flip-flops.

The couple tied the knot in a tropical-themed ceremony on the beach.

Lorenzo's daughter, Shayne Lamas, who is one year older than the bride, said she was very happy for her dad, adding:

"They are both really excited and seem very much in love, so they of course have my blessing."

Sure, the bride is half his age, but we're sure it's true love. Maybe he finally got it right the fifth time around.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

The new music video for Lady Gaga‘s new single Judas has just leaked its way online. Taking a cue from the motorcycle-inspired album artwork for her new album Born This Way, Gaga and her “king with no crown” can be seen riding around with a bunch of bikers (who are named after the 12 apostles of the Bible) as she sings about her love of Judas Juda-a-a. Wanna check it out? Watch the full music video below for Judas by Lady Gaga.

Hmmm … I’m not sure what I think about this video. There seems to be a lot of religious imagery thrown in just for the sake of throwing it in. Gaga does get stoned to death at the end so, there’s that. The song isn’t one of my faves but I can’t tell if the video helps or hurts the song for me. What do y’all think? Do you love it?

White iPhone 4 Selling Well

The long-awaited white version of the hugely popular iPhone 4 was released yesterday in 27 countries.

Apparently it's selling wellpretty well… amazingly well:

Initial reports from Asia indicated it had sold out in Hong Kong and Beijing within hours of going on sale yesterday.

Wow!

We're not very surprised by this, Apple products always sell like hot cakes! (if hot cakes sell millions of units and make phone calls… kind of a ridiculous phrase)

Cue every news outlet reporting on it to say that it's "white hot," right??

Congrats, Steve!
